hi, i drink because it makes me happy -- but i'm not an alocholic. i tell everyone that (including strangers on the bus&subway) yet no one believes me.
the 1997 Beaulieu Vineyards Tapestry blend was one of Wine Spectator's top 100 wines of 2000 (#21 to be exact). however, by the time i was legally allowed to purchase wines, the 1997 vintage was all gone. so instead i settled for the 1999 Tapestry vintage.
eight years later, i can honestly say i'm glad i "settled". having stored the wine for that much time and being able to enjoy it at its peak maturity is a splendid thing... that makes me happy.
again, wine makes me happy but i am not an alcoholic. =)
